    Our very own Christy Cramer, PE, LEED AP BD+C and Heather Grillo joined many others at the Green Building Alliance – Emerald Gala last week. The GBA celebrated their 30th Anniversary at one of CJL Engineering’s very own projects, the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens.

    We would like to congratulate the GBA on this amazing milestone and thank them for their dedication to advancing sustainability in the Pittsburgh region!

    CJL Engineering has partnered with Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens to provide lighting, mechanical, and energy system design for many of their recent sustainable Net Zero building projects, including the Center for Sustainable Landscapes, Special Events Center, Exhibit Staging (Commissioning), and the upcoming Phipps Garden Center renovation. System efficiency, reliability, controllability, and feedback contribute to Net Zero or Net Positive energy goals while maintaining a healthy and comfortable environment for both occupants and plant life. Geothermal heat pump systems, daylight and occupancy responsive LED lighting, photovoltaic panels, low flow plumbing fixtures, and on-site battery storage contribute to Phipps’ sustainable building goals as well as a high-performance building envelope and passive design strategies.
